How we handle the personal information you share with us when you enquire about lessons, book a trial, or use our website and social media.
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This website and our lessons are operated by Musical Island Talent School ("we", "us", "our"), a music and performing-arts school based in Brighton-Le-Sands, New South Wales, Australia, directed by Natalie Mitz. You can contact us any time at musical.island@outlook.com or on 0415 971 915.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
We only collect information we need to respond to you and arrange lessons. This may include:
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. If you submit an enquiry through an "instant form" or message us in response to one of our ads, Meta passes the details you provide (such as your name, phone number, email address and answers to our questions) to us so we can contact you about a trial lesson.
Information you share with Meta is also subject to Meta's Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing your Facebook and Instagram privacy settings if you want to control how your information is pre-filled in these forms.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary with:
Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code that helps us understand how visitors arrive from our Facebook and Instagram ads and whether those ads lead to enquiries. It may set cookies in your browser. This information is reported to us in aggregate. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage ad personalisation in your Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings.
Your information is stored in secure, access-controlled systems and in our own records. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
Many of our students are under 18. Where a student is a minor, we expect enquiries and enrolment to be made by a parent or guardian, and we rely on that parent or guardian to provide consent for us to hold the student's details for the purpose of delivering lessons.
You can ask us to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop sending you updates. Contact us at musical.island@outlook.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above.
