What we teach

A program for every stage, from first lesson to opening night.

We build every plan around the child (or grown-up) in front of us: their age, their goals, and whether they're playing purely for joy, working toward a certificate, or dreaming of the spotlight.

Led by a performer

Every lesson is taught by someone who still performs.

Natalie Mitz doesn't just teach from a method book. She's a working pianist and theatre director who still gets up on stage herself each season with Musical Island Productions. That's the same stage your child could be standing on next, in front of family, friends and a real audience.

Your teacher & director

"Teaching became my platform to create, learn and improvise, for children and adults alike."

Natalie Mitz founded Musical Island Talent School in Sydney in 2012, after training in Russia (Bachelor of Education, Drama) and completing master's studies in Australia in Music and Linguistics. She teaches in both English and Russian. Alongside teaching, she's a pianist, composer and theatre director who writes and stages the original Musical Island Productions shows, and that hands-on stage experience shapes how she teaches every single lesson. She's also the author of Musical Island, a children's book that grew out of the same story world as her stage productions.
